Packaging coated with plastic films (glossy and matte laminates) pollutes nature with plastic as it does not disintegrate naturally, it is not recyclable and therefore not environmentally friendly.

Packaging made from recycled cardboard differs from packaging made from primary wood raw material in terms of appearance and functionality. Recycled cardboard is not as aesthetically pleasing and durable as cardboard made from cellulose. It is less resistant to moisture and mechanical damage, it is thicker and heavier. It is these qualities that you should pay attention to when looking for a shipping package. A few additional grams of packaging or slightly larger outer dimensions of the package can lead to a higher shipping cost. Recycled cardboard packaging must have a certificate to confirm this. Assurance by the seller alone that the packaging is made from recycled cardboard is not sufficient.

Certified boxes of unprocessed cardboard can be made from raw material extracted from a responsibly managed forest that is constantly replanted.

While it is technically possible to produce boxes from 100% recycled corrugated cardboard, in practice this is not always suitable for shipping. Corrugated board made entirely from recycled fiber is more sensitive to moisture and less resistant to compression. As a result, during longer transportation, the box may lose its shape or become damaged.

We do not recommend choosing boxes made from 100% recycled cardboard if you are planning a more economical shipping option, where the parcel travels longer distances and is handled multiple times across sorting terminals.

No, our black boxes are not dyed. They are made from decorative black corrugated cardboard, so the entire cardboard layer, including the inner fluting, as well as the edges, are naturally black. This gives the boxes a uniform, luxurious, and sturdy appearance without any added color.

Edges of dyed cardboard are usually white, so dyed boxes look visually different from our black corrugated cardboard boxes. Additionally, naturally black corrugated cardboard is more durable and resistant to everyday use, as dyed surfaces can start to crack along the fold lines.

Before sorting the packaging, separate the plastic window from the cardboard if possible. Throw the cardboard part of the box into the paper and cardboard packaging container, and the separated plastic window into the plastic packaging container. This ensures that different packaging materials enter their respective waste streams, making them easier to recycle properly.

The FSC® label on packaging means that the origin of the paper and cardboard used in its production is controlled in accordance with FSC requirements. Depending on the type of FSC label, the packaging can be made from FSC-certified forest raw materials, recycled materials, or controlled sources.

For example, if it is stated that corrugated cardboard contains 31% recycled fiber, it means that approximately 31% of the fiber used in its production is recycled, and the remaining part is virgin fiber.

It is important not to confuse the packaging material composition with the amount of recycled fiber in the material itself. A box can be made of 100% corrugated cardboard, but the corrugated cardboard itself may contain, for example, 31%, 70%, or another proportion of recycled fiber.

The amount of recycled fiber depends on the specific type of corrugated cardboard and the paper layers that make it up. In the SUPERBOX PPWR declaration, we provide the percentage of recycled fiber of the material used for the specific packaging.

The declaration is issued for a specific packaging or a family of packaging. It identifies the packaging and provides information on its compliance with applicable PPWR requirements, including material safety and packaging recyclability.

Together, we provide a detailed breakdown of the packaging materials: specifying each material used in the packaging, its type, weight, percentage, and recycled content. This gives the customer concrete data regarding the composition of their purchased packaging and the proportion of recycled raw materials used in it.

Packaging compliance is supported by technical documentation, raw material and component data, supplier declarations, test protocols, and other documents applicable to the specific packaging.

If the packaging composition or any other parameter critical to its compliance changes, compliance is reviewed and, if necessary, a new version of the PPWR declaration is issued.
